Azaela Time in the South

For the last few weeks it has been azaela time in the South! There are so many different colors and varieties. I remember when I lived in the North and would visit the South in the Spring I was just amazed at the colors and how vivid they were. I remember my baby sister waking up from napping on our drive and saying to my Mom, "Mommy the woods are on fire, we have to get out of here quick"! She was absolutely right they did look like they were on fire. I thought I would share some pictures of places that have beautiful azaelas. I have been to Magnolia Plantation but not to Pinecrest and I must say Magnolia's azaelas are absolutely gorgeous as well as their camellia bushes! Hope you enjoy!!

This is a glimpse of a beautiful setting in Magnolia Plantation and Gardens. Our family has been here 3 times. It is in Charleston, SC along the Ashley River. The plantation was built by the Drayton Family in 1676. If you are ever in Charleston, it is worth stopping by and walking all the paths. They have a wonderful collection of camellias too.

These azaela are growing at Pinecrest Azaela Gardens in Oak Ridge, Missouri. I have never been here but the pictures on their website are beautiful! This garden was established in 1963. If I ever get to Missouri, I'll be sure to look this garden up!
